A line of tipping wagons wait at the north end of Mansfield Road tunnel, Nottingham. Passing over the contractor's rails and spanning this roughly hewn rock cutting is a temporary wooden footbridge. Built by Logan & Hemingway as part of Contract No.1 (Annesley to Leake), the completed 1200 yard (1097 metres) tunnel carried train services directly into Nottingham's Victoria Station.
