Large girder bridge over Bath Lane in Leicester looking south, circa 1899. Leicester Central Station would be just to the left of the picture, and the West Bridge girder spans would be just to the right. The old West Bridge road bridge can be seen in the distance. There is a horse drawn wagon approaching the camera on the cobbled road. The scene looks radically different today as none of the structures in this view survive.
