Talbot Lane Site Office

Talbot Lane Site Office *
***

The temporary site office for the construction of Contract No. 2 (East Leake to Aylestone) on Talbot Lane in Leicester. The office would have been occupied by the contractor, Henry Lovatt, and the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway engineer who would have overseen the work. Characteristic of the day are the shutters on the windows, the boot scraper in the wall by the door step, and the cobbled pavement and road.
