Construction of a single arch tunnel at Dunton Bassett, Leicestershire, circa 1897. This section of the Railway (Contract No.3 Aylestone to Rugby) was built by Topham, Jones & Railton. Comparing the two sets of tracks presents a fine illustration of the difference between the permanent way and temporary rails laid by the contractor.
