Navvy huts near ChetwodeThese temporary wooden huts near Chetwode formed part of the navvy settlement that was erected by Walter Scott & Co. to house the men at work on Contract No.6 of the Last Main Line. Although simple by today's standards, the huts provided the navvies and their families with a relatively good standard of accommodation when compared with many other working class dwellings of the period.
